History:
There was the very first Koenigsegg's CC running prototype, made on a tube frame at the very first workshop in Olofstrom, Sköne County in Sweden. It was powered by an Audi 4,2L V8.

Other Details:
The XX1 Chassis was re-finished in 1997/1998 with the Motori Moderni flat B12 engine and new manufared body parts of the lates 1:1 clay model. The B12 engine was connected to the rear wheels via a six speed Quaife gearbox and the name CC B12 was still in the air (in this period "CC" was for Carlo Chiti) !

Performance Upgrade:
The Audi 4,2L V8 was put into the second Prototyp XX2 and the XX1 Chassis was than fitted with the Motori Moderni ("Subaru") flat B12 engine (3,5 liter 650 hp @ 12500 rpm). This flat 12s engine made an absolutley incredible noise and was very unreliable though - the limit for the design would have been around 750bhp.
